Condition: There are small scratches to the wood surface of the frame.
The medallions within the frame measure 3.5" in diameter, each. The individual medallions measure between 3" to 3.5" in diameter.
Provenance: Acquired from a private collection in Arizona. The owner inherited these pieces from his father's estate. Each is signed Eddie Basha on the backside. Basha commissioned Joe Beeler to make medallions. Both Basha and Joe Beeler's mother served on the AZ State Board of Education together; they were close friends. They were both nominated by Bruce Babbitt.

Vintage Antiques acquired it from the estate of Frode Dann (spouse of artist). Katherine Skeele Dann studied at the California School of Fine Arts, in Paris with Andre Lhote and at the Royal Academy of Arts in Florence. She was a high school art teacher for many ears and often spent summers in Taos among the Native Americans. There is surface wear, slight paint loss, and small, thin cracks along each shoulder. This doll has not had any restoration or breaks to the piece. Signed twice in pencil "B.V." on the bottom of each foot, probably old inventory number.

Description: Wilson Tawaquaptewa did not sign his dolls, but this is a classic example with the usual face and body paint of the masters work.
