Four Elements Beadworks

An instagram post of a gorgeous night sky with the moon and crazy clouds in mixed colors was my inspiration! Thank you to Erik, who posted the original photo! This necklace is "Albuquerque Moon", a 3 strand Apatite, Black Obsidian, Cultured Pearl coins, Grey Moonstone, Jungle Jasper, Turquoise nuggets and Yellow Calcite round beads finished with a silver plated slide clasp. In order to "paint" my interpretation of his photo, I needed to wide palate of colors, textures and gemstones!! The shortest strand is 15 1/2 inches and the longest is 19 3/4 inches long.

I was gifted a wonderful partial strand of vintage gemstone chips with Delica Glass spacer beads between each chip! The necklace has vintage Citrine, Amethyst, Obsidian and amber colored Citrine quartz. I added in White Coral and a beautiful silver plated Fibriate Shell drop to create "Along the Beach", this 3 strand necklace that reminds me of my walks along the coast of Florida! Back in the "Island" days, we were blessed to live and work on Sanibel Island, and like so many others, we would go "shelling", the wonderful pass time of collecting empty seashells along the edge of the water. The short strand is 16 1/4 inches long and the longest one is 18 inches long. The shell drop is 1 /12 inches long and I finished Along the Beach with a silver filled fancy slide and lock clasp. Aqua Dreams is a 3 strand necklace with Amazonite faceted rondelles, Apatite "coins" and Turquoise flat rounds. I finished it with Delica Glass spacer beads and a Sterling Silver toggle clasp. The short strand is 16.5 inches long and the longest one is 19.25 inches long. This necklace is a nod to all of the beautiful places I've lived where there is water and amazing blue skies! December is the birthstone for December and I often use Apatite in place of Aquamarine for March's birthstone. Mixing the cool and warm aqua colors makes this a very versatile necklace.

Autumn Pear Tree is a set including a 3 strand necklace and a single strand bracelet. The necklace includes Poppy and Red Jaspers, Red Aventurine, Unakite and Vesuvianite. It's finished with a silver filled brass fancy slide and lock clasp. The shortest strand is 16 1/2 inches long and the longest one is 20 inches long. The single strand bracelet has Red Aventurine, Unakite and wooden beads and is finished with a silver filled Pewter toggle clasp with a heart. It's 7 1/2 inches long.

Autumnal Dreams is a single strand necklace with a matching bracelet that can also be used as a necklace extender. I used Green Turquoise discs mixed with Sponge Coral Rondelles in the necklace and bracelet. I added 6 Carnelian ovals to the bracelet and both pieces are finished with Delica Glass spacer beads and Sterling Silver toggle clasps that will fit with each other! The necklace is 18" long and the bracelet/extender is 7 1/2 " long. Turquoise is December's birthstone. Just as we think of Red and Blue for the 4th of July, I think of Red, Blue and Purple around this holiday because the BERRIES are READY to pick! Succulent Blackberries, Blueberries, Raspberries and Strawberries are perfect right now! Or think Mulberries, Currants and Concord grapes!! This Blue, Purple and Red necklace has Amethyst, February's birthstone, Carved Blue Aventurine, Garnet teardrops, Lapis, Red Coral and Sodalite. Birdseye is a 2 strand necklace with Birdseye Rhyolite ovals, Ryolite saucers, Hessonite Garnet facets and round Moonstone. I used Delica Glass spacer beads and a Silver filled toggle clasp to finish Birdseye. The total inspiration is from the Birdseye Rhyolite beads. I bought them years ago, and just found them in an unmarked box of "treasures" yesterday afternoon during a thunderstorm! The short strand is 16 1/2 inches long and the longer one is 18 3/4 incheds long. January's birthstone is Garnet. I wore this necklace for a while after I made it and I have to say it was very soothing, comforting and relaxing!

I found this blue swirled Agate focal drop and created Blue Swirl, a 2 strand Iolite and Moonstone necklace with the Agate as the center inspiration. I used Delica Glass spacer beads and a Silver filled toggle clasp at the ends. The Iolite strand is 18 inches long and the Moonstone, Iolite and Agate strand is 18 1/2 inches long. Candy Cane is a 3 strand Rainbow Moonstone and color enhanced Red Coral necklace inspired by my love for the seasonal candy! Somehow, no other minty candy can take the place of a Candy Cane! Christmas cactus plants seem to bloom whenever they're in the mood! Mine are blooming in January! This 3 strand necklace, "Christmas Cactus" is an interpretation of my pink blossomed Christmas cactus which is in full blossom mode today! This is a more delicate necklace because the beads I chose to use are smaller sizes. It reflects how lovely and delicate the cactus blossoms really are.

This is Citron and Sage, a 3 strand necklace with Beryl, Grossularite/Hessonite Garnet rondelles, round Yellow Calcite and 2 Yellow Opals. I used Delica glass spacer beads and a Silver filled toggle clasp at the ends. The short strand is 17 1/4 inches long and the longest Beryl strand is 20 inches long. Even though the Grossularite/Hessonite Garnets don't look like the more common red Garnet, they are actually also January's birthstone! I think the light sage greens and the pale yellow colors of these gemstones create a nice spring combination.

Cove Sunset is my version of a lovely sunset photo sent to my by my friend in New England. Jenn takes the most gorgeous photos of sunsets from Herring Cove, and this set is my thank you to her for sharing some of those photos with me. I used Aqua Goshenite discs, large oval Blue Agates, uneven round Orange Agate, Sunstones facets and silver toggle clasps. Beautiful and sparkling faceted Carnelian and Garnet beads are accented with little round white Moonstone beads and Delica Glass beads. Early Blueberries was inspired by my Blueberry Bushes in the very early summer. Most of the berries are still green and the leaves tend to hide them. Then a few brave early ones start to turn lavender, and then deep blue! I’ve used Chrysoprase, Fluorite, Lapis and Emerald Green Aventurine and created a sort of weave with 2 strands. This necklace really makes a statement when you wear it. Totally a one of a kind piece!

Wildfires are so frightening, damaging and unpredictable. Spring winds and drought conditions truly fuel those fires here in New Mexico. The smoke, dirt, pollen and chemicals filled the sky as the sun was about to set and the sun was a bright pinkish red. It was sobering, scary and beautiful at the same time. The sky was a bizarre olive green. This necklace is Fire in the Sky, my "glass is half full" take on that scary sky. I used green Beryl for the longest strand mixed with green Opal twists. Faceted Chrysoprase is the main gemstone in the middle strand and I used faceted Prehnite for the shortest strand. The sun is represented with a singular round Strawberry Quartz bead. Spring time means the fruit trees are flowering and on my daily dog walks, I've been enjoying the sights and smells of these lovely Cherry, Peach and Pear trees in bloom! Holiday Night is based on a memory of my mom in her favorite holiday top that I gave to her as a gift one year. It had all of these colors in it, and at the time, with her silver hair, it was the epitome of the holidays for me!
