Collector’s Focus: Women of the West
Our 10th annual Collector’s Focus: Women of the West returns in the June issue of Western Art Collector. Like their male peers, women artists embrace a range of Western subject matter. They have much to say on this historical genre and their skillful depictions of the Old West, the New West, and the Next West deserve our attention. This section will continue to showcase fresh pieces of Western art produced by today’s talented women artists. Join us as we shine a light on contemporary leading female artists while paying homage to trailblazers like Marjorie Reed, Mary Cassatt and Georgia O’Keeffe.

Collector’s Focus: The Western Frontier
In the late 1700s and early 1800s, the American frontier spanned more than half the country and largely began in the Midwest, where pioneers, trappers, traders, explorers and adventurers plotted their journeys to discover the mysteries that lie beyond, look for new homes, strike it rich or encounter Indigenous people. What they found in the frontier was the West and all its grandeur. For the first time ever, Western Art Collector will highlight these subjects in the Collector’s Focus: The Western Frontier, which will shine a light on this fascinating subject as it is painted and sculpted by artists working today.

State of the Art: OKLAHOMA
Join us for our milestone 13th annual State of the Art: Oklahoma feature this June! Home to roughly 80 percent of the world’s Western art, 23 art museums and numerous galleries and artists, it is no secret why this state is frequented by collectors. The state’s large invitational art shows, like the Prix de West at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, also draw visitors from across the nation each year. Western Art Collector will travel to Catoosa, Edmond, Oklahoma City, Bartlesville, Norman, Park Hill, Tulsa and more to offer a thorough guide to finding Western art in Oklahoma.
