Four Elements Beadworks

I’ve combined Peach Moonstone, Rainbow Moonstone, Sunstone and White Potato Pearls to make “Abiqui” in honor of the beautiful mountains around the town, Abiqui in New Mexico and surrounding Ghost Ranch where Georgia O’Keefe worked. I was so inspired after visiting that majestic area, and it was as though those color streaked mountains were talking to me in Echo Canyon. I finished this inspired necklace with a silver filled flower shaped slide and lock clasp. The short strand is 18 inches long and the longest one is a bit over 20 inches long. Moonstone is called the stone of “New Beginnings”, something we’re all about to embark on. It helps bring us inner strength and growth. It’s thought to help us be calm and it improves our intuitive abilities which helps us in love and business! Sunstone is a strong protective stone that helps bring the positive to you as it disapates negativity. Pearls are very symbolic, and remind us of faith, innocence and purity. Day Lilies are one of my favorte flowers and this years blooms are phenomenal! While I was on a FaceTime call with my almost 8 year old granddaughter, I showed her the flowers. Then I asked her if she would like to choose the beads for me to use in this necklace that I named, of course, "Day Lilies"! I think she did a wonderful job! This beautiful 2 strand sparkling necklace, “Fire and Ice” really shows my impression of the first Snow on Autumn colors. I combined Carnelian, Quartz Crystal and Mexican Fire Opal and finished it with a fancy silver plated slide and lock clasp. Carnelian is considered a powerful semi precious gemstone that aids in purifying the blood and kidneys and it also is said to aid in fertility. it’s also thought to increase our mineral and vitamin absorption giving an improved blood flow to or organs! Green on Green is a tribute to August’s birthstone. I used 3 shapes and sizes of Peridot, the primary birthstone for August. Then I accented the longest strand with faceted teardrop shaped Prehnite which is a stone for dreaming and remembering. It also removes toxins from the body and aids with metabolism. Peridot is “a powerful cleanser. It releases and neutralises toxins on all levels. Alleviates jealousy, resentment, spite, bitterness, irritation, hatred and greed. I used a silver filled toggle clasp to finish it, and there are Delica Glass Spacer beads also. Celebrate life with “Green on Green”!

A friend posted an incredible photo of her sister Marcia’s Hibiscus. I was so inspired that I just had to create a necklace in that flower’s honor! Beautiful and sparkling faceted Carnelian and Garnet beads are accented with little round white Moonstone beads and Delica Glass beads. This 3 strand necklace, "October's Colors" is finished with a Sterling Silver toggle clasp. The rich, warm colors look like the reddish purple carrots that I harvested from my garden this week! Like I always say, inspiration comes from anywhere!!! Garnet is the birthstone for January babies. It’s considered a powerful healing stone that can aid with circulation and your heart. Carnelian has that fire orange color that I associate with Autumn colors and it just feels like Halloween and Thanksgiving! “Pine Tree” is a 3 strand Green Turquoise and Peridot necklace with Delica Glass Spacer beads and a pretty Alloy Pine Cone Charm from Nature Jewelry company. I used a Sterling Silver toggle clasp to finish it. Peridot is August’s birthstone and Turquoise is December’s birthstone. I just love the color combination. It looks like my neighbor’s pine tree that has some gorgeous pine cones developing! Peridot is a stone of good luck, harmony and balance. It’s both calming and inspiring! Turquoise is said to bring in the wisdom of the ancient ones to those who wear it! This necklaces short strand is 17 inches long and the longest is 19 1/2 inches.

“Snowy Southwest” is a fun 3 strand necklace! I’ve combined Apatite flat ovals, faceted Rainbow Moonstone rondelles and Turquoise nuggets. I finished this piece with a pretty slide and lock silver filled clasp. The shortest strand is 18” and the longest one is 20”, so it will work with many necklines. The lustrous faceted Rainbow Moonstone really sets off the matte finish of the Turquoise giving it a real feeling of cold snow! Turquoise is the birthstone for January babies.

Mixing blue green Tuquoise with Carnelian “coins” I created “Southwest Style”, a 3 strand necklace. I love the colors together, and they very much look like the southwest color palette that I love so much! I used a silver filled toggle clasp to finish the piece. The shortest strand is 17 1/2 inches long and the longest one is 20 inches long. Perfect for year round wear, and most necklines! Turquoise is the birthstone for December. It is considered an excellent stone to improve your mental state, increasing creativity, serenity and wisdom. This is "Sun Tribe". African Green Turquoise, SunStone and Green & Brown Turquoise Discs finished with a sliding clasp. This one really is a powerful necklace. Tatanka is a 3 strand necklace featuring a green Turquoise buffalo fetish pendant. The shortest strand, which is 16.5 " long, is faceted Prehnite. The center strand is Autumn Jasper and the longest strand which is 18 3/4" long is New Jade with Poppy Jasper. I finished this piece with a Sterling Silver toggle clasp. According to the "Medicine Cards", by Jamie Sams and David Carson, Buffalo "medicine" represents Prayer and Abundance. Sands writes, "Buffalo...You bring us, The gifts of life. Hear our prayers, Smoke rising, Like Phoenix. We are reborn, Within the sacred words." Buffalo are hard to find these days, after they were nearly wiped out, but like the "Medicine Cards" say, Buffalo represents abundance. The opal like quality to the Water Dragon Eye Jasper beads gives them a wonderful reflective and lustrous look. The Faceted Peruvian Opals are varied in color from nearly clear, turquoise, green to brown. The flat oval green blue Turquoise beads pull the entire piece together!
